PURPOSE:To provide a voltage application method which enables the expanding of a measurable range of an enzyme electrode. CONSTITUTION:Voltage application method consists of the first-fourth steps. At the first step, contact of a specimen with an enzyme electrode is detected. At the second step, a working pole is kept for a fixed time t1 at the first potential at which no current flows through a working electrode. At the third step, the second potential V2 exceeding a detection potential of hydrogenperoxide is applied to the working pole for a specified time t2 and thereafter, is lowered to the third potential V3 below a zero potential. At the fourth step, in the detection of a substance to be measured by sweeping the working pole to the fourth potential Vend exceeding the detection potential of hydrogen peroxide at a fixed speed Vs from the third potential V3, any of a peak value of current, a current value at a potential separated by a fixed potential from the peak value and a current value at a specified potential is determined during the sweeping and a conversion is performed from a calibration curve determined previously. |
