PURPOSE:To provide a quiet image-forming apparatus having a small size and being inexpensive without using an expensive electrophotographic process having a large size or an impact type having a large noise though it is inexpensive. CONSTITUTION:The image forming apparatus comprises a rotatable sleeve 2 having a spiral groove on a surface, a signal electrode 10 disposed in parallel with a rotary shaft direction of the sleeve 2, an electric field control electrode 14 provided between the sleeve 2 and the electrode 10 and provided with a through hole corresponding to the electrode 10, conveying roll pair 5 for conveying a record sheet 9 to a gap between the electrode 14 and the electrode 10, and means for supplying toner 4 into the groove. A high voltage is selectively applied in response to record information between the sleeve 2 and the electrode 10 in a state that a specific voltage having the same polarity is applied to the toner 4 between the sleeve 4 and the electrode 14, and the toner 4 is selectively transferred to the sheet to obtain an image. |
