The supporting shoe consists of a base (2) for fixing to the conveyor frame, surmounted by a thrust member (3) with two parallel side faces (30, 30') which are joined to an upper face (36) formed by two surfaces (32, 32') which are inclined at an angle of 3-10 deg to a plane perpendicular to the side faces, and having no sharp corners. The shoe is made from polyurethane or polyethylene with a high mol. wt., and its upper surface has a wear indicator (33), made in the form of a ridge or insert which is harder than the rest of the thrust surface.
