<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enhance the efficiency of degradation of a toner and to enable the recycling of paper by heating the toner contg. a copolymer contg. phenyl isopropenyl ketone as one of the constituent monomers, a colorant and an electric charge controlling agent under irradiation with UV. SOLUTION: A photodegradable electrophotographic toner consisting of a copolymer contg. phenyl isopropenyl ketone as at least one of the constituent monomers, a colorant, an electric charge controlling agent, a sensitizer and an anti-offsetting agent is degraded by heating at 50-100 deg.C under irradiation with UV. The phenyl group of the phenyl isopropenyl ketone is a substd. or unsubstd. phenyl group and the substituents include a 1-4C alkyl, an alkoxy, an alkoxycarbonyl and an acyl or Cl, Br, cyano, nitro, etc. A printed part can easily be peeled from paper by blowing compressed air or applying mechanical shock by bending, folding or abrasion, by using this method.</p> |
