PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a display unit which surely maintains display colors, is small in size and simple in constitution, is usable in spite of nonavailability of the electric power supply from an external electric power source and enables the assurance of a sufficient display light quantity. SOLUTION: Fluorescent materials are incorporated into fluorescent acrylic plates 2, 3 and inscribed grooves 15 are formed on the inner flanks 2a, 3a of these fluorescent acrylic plates 2, 3. A solar battery 4 is disposed between the fluorescent acrylic plates 2 and 3 and the light received therein is converted to electric power, which is stored into a battery. When the sunshine and the light of fluorescent lights are introduced to the fluorescent acrylic plates 2, 3, this light is reflected and refracted by the inscribed grooves 15 and is optically displayed on the outer side. When the sunshine and the light of the fluorescent lights are no longer given, the light sensor in an LED(light emitting diode) holder 7 detects the same and triggers the LED 8 to emit light. The LED 8 emits light by receiving the supply of the electric power stored thus far in the battery. |
