摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a thermal transfer recording method in which the recorded image quality is superior and the coating formation is uniform even in the case of using a line type end face thermal head, is used and also provide a thermal transfer recording medium therefor. SOLUTION: In the constitution of a thermal transfer recording method, a thermal transfer recording medium with a thermal transfer ink layer on a substrate is bonded on a body to be recorded, and the thermal transfer ink layer is heated selectively in compliance with an image signal by a line type end face thermal head, and then the thermal transfer recording medium is released from the body to be recorded, and the thermal transfer ink layer melted or softened into the image shape is transferred on the body to be recorded. In that case, a thermal transfer medium formed of an ethylene acetate vinyl copolymer, in which the thermal transfer ink layer contains thermoplastic resin, a heat melting substance and a coloring agent, and the thermoplastic resin in the thermal transfer ink layer is formed of an ethylene acetate vinyl copolymer of melt flow rate of 10-1,000 dg/min and the vinyl acetate content of 30-40%, is used.
