PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To execute accurate gradation representation without complicating an electric structure of this image forming apparatus even when the image forming is executed by accurately controlling emission intensity of a light emitting diode for an intermediate gradation image. SOLUTION: An image forming apparatus comprises an optical print head 1 that has a light emitting diode array having multiple light emitting diode elements arranged in a line and selectively drives the light emitting diode elements based on a printing signal, a cooling member 3 having a cooling medium therein and a thermally actuated means 2 that brings the optical print head 1 into contact with the cooling member 3 by deforming itself corresponding to a temperature condition of the optical print head 1 when the temperature of the optical print head 1 is higher than a predetermined level. |
