摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To eliminate a sense of incongruity caused by a difference of clock frequencies produced in a video image at joints resulting from clock changeover in the case of displaying a video image, whose aspect ratio is 4:3, onto a liquid crystal display device corresponding to the wide mode, whose aspect ratio is 16:9, for the display in the just mode where a 8/3 frequency division clock, a 1/3 frequency division clock or a 1/4 frequency division block is selected. SOLUTION: In the liquid crystal display device, clock signals with a small rate of change are used, consisting of a 3-phase n×16/3 frequency division clock group, a 3-phase n×17/3 frequency division clock group, a 3-phase n×1/3 frequency division clock group, a 3-phase n×20/3 frequency division clock group, and a 3-phase n×1/7 frequency division clock group in order to control three changeover means 110-112 in time series so as to generate three pulse train signals. Then an image is displayed on the liquid crystal display device whose aspect ratio is 16:9 in the just mode by using the generated clock signals.
