PURPOSE: A rear supervisory lamp for a side mirror is provided to enable a driver to safely back a vehicle up by lighting up both sides and the rear of the vehicle in backward motion. CONSTITUTION: A rear supervisory lamp for a side mirror(20) is composed of a switch(70), a backward motion detecting sensor detecting the backward motion of a vehicle and transmitting a signal to a control unit, a rear lighting lamp(40) mounted to the side mirror, and a lamp driving unit for driving the rear lighting lamp. The control unit receives the signal from the backward motion detecting sensor, and outputs a driving signal to the lamp driving unit to switch on the rear lighting lamp. The rear lighting lamp lights up the rear and sides of a vehicle(10). The switch is mounted to the inside of the vehicle, and controls the driving of the rear supervisory lamp by the operation of a driver.
