<p>The present invention relates to a lift for persons in wheelchairs. The lift can be installed in stairs and landings, where they have no conventional lifts. The lift consists of a supporting platform (1) which is hanging in a carriage (4) intended to be drivent along a transport rail (5), installed in the staircase. The invention is specially aimed at improving the safety of operation for such lifts. The supporting platform (1) is stabilized through two arms of scissors (6), pivotally stored in the carriage (4), one on each side of the carraige (4) and the supporting platform (1) in order to prevent the supporting platform (1) from starting vibrating. The wheelchair and the person bound to the wheelchair is meant to be placed on this supporting platform (1). According to the invention, the service brake of the wheelchair-lift is arranged in a separate unit, which is connected to the carriage through a flexible axle, whereby the brake can be made sufficiently effective to fulfil high requirements.</p> |
