PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To make it possible for a magnet roll used in a copying machine, printer or the like to supply a pattern forming material such as toner onto a photoreceptor drum comparatively uniformly. SOLUTION: On the surface of the roll 6 constituting the surface of the magnet roll, a plurality of grooves are formed almost parallel to one another in the lengthwise direction of the external surface of the roll. Thereby, toner, etc., can be conveyed to the middle of the roll as the roll rotates. Accordingly, when the magnet roll is rotated, such an image forming material as toner 3 can be drawn towards the middle of the roll without falling from the ends of the magnet roll, and made comparatively uniform.
