PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a rotor which can further reduce a temperature rise caused by a surface loss, and a rotating machine which is equipped with the rotor. SOLUTION: This device has a shaft 11 and at least a first magnetic pole 12 and a second magnetic pole which are provided around the shaft 11 along the rotative direction of the shaft. The first magnetic pole 12 and the second magnetic pole are constituted of a plurality of magnetic pole members each arranged via spaces.
