PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electric double-layer capacitor for addressing an instantaneous voltage drop capable of miniaturizing an apparatus and reducing costs when applied to such short-time discharge applications as an instantaneous voltage drop compensation apparatus. SOLUTION: The temperature of the electric double-layer capacitor 1 is maintained within a fixed range by a temperature control circuit 2, having a heater 22 for heating the electric double-layer capacitor 1, a temperature sensor 24 for detecting the temperature of the electric double-layer capacitor 1, and a temperature regulator 23 for controlling the increase/decrease of heating temperature by the heater 22 based on temperature detected by the temperature sensor 24 and maintaining the temperature of the electric double-layer capacitor 1 at a desired value.
