PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a die for manufacturing superconducting wires capable of easily manufacturing superconducting wires, and a method of manufacturing the superconducting wires using the die for manufacturing superconducting wires. SOLUTION: Of the NbTi system superconducting wires manufactured, an Nb system metal thin plate 6 is deformed into a cylindrical shape by having an NbTi system superconducting rod 9 and the platy Nb system metal thin plate 6 go through a die 1 simultaneously with an approach angle of 2α=15°, the Nb system metal cylindrical body 7 is formed around the NbTi system superconducting rod 9 and inserted into a copper system metal tube 8, so that a superconducting assembly 4 arranged with the Nb system metal cylindrical body 7 and the NbTi system superconducting rod 9 inside the copper system metal tube 8 shown in Fig.6(b) is manufactured, then, the superconducting assembly 4 is put under a wire drawing process and a heat treatment to manufacture an NbTi system superconducting wire. Since the Nb system metal cylindrical body 7 is formed in a cylindrical shape by putting the Nb system metal thin plate 6 through the die 1, the superconducting assembly 4 can be easily manufactured.
