PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reflect the difference of significance between the same kind relevant information on the relevant information. SOLUTION: A document DB42 stores a plurality of documents. A relevant information DB 43 stores relevant information set in each of two documents having a causal relation stored in the document DB 42. This relevant information is used for managing a document having the causal relation with the connection origin document as the document as the basis of the cause and effect as the connection destination, and the level of connection showing the strength of the causal relation is included. The retrieval range designation part of the relevant information processing part 55 designates the utilization range of data stored in the document DB 42 based on the level of connection. The relevant information updating part of the relevant information processing part 55 updates the level of connection included in the relevant information stored in the relevant information DB 43 according to the utilization circumstances of the data shown by the relevant information.
