LEAD STORAGE BATTERY

A current collector for a lead storage battery, which can suppress a lowering in capacitance in an early stage, is produced. In this case, regarding raw materials for a positive electrode current collector in the lead storage battery, a lead powder or a lead-base alloy powder is used as a lead-containing powder, and a powder of antimony as a simple substance or a lead-antimony composite oxide powder (Pb_xSb_yO_z) is used as an antimony-containing powder. The lead-base alloy powder is, for example, a lead-tin-calcium (Pb-Sn-Ca) alloy. A powder of bismuth as a simple metal may be used instead of the powder of antimony as a simple metal. The lead-containing powder is mixed with an antimony-containing powder, and the mixture is subjected to powder rolling to prepare a sheet. This sheet is taken off and provided as a current collector.
