PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming apparatus including a front cover that has a fastness equal to or more than that of a front cover including a sheet-metal reinforcement plate or a front cover that has the equivalent fastness despite a reduced thickness of the sheet metal.SOLUTION: Buffer materials 1101 to 1105 are arranged to be buffer materials for a right front cover 105 and are arranged between ribs at positions 203 on the right front cover. The buffer materials 1101 to 1105 are attached to the positions 203 on the right front cover by using a viscous material for assembly. A resin reinforcement plate 302 is screwed to be fixed to the cover while being pressurized. A double-sided tape with a base material is used as the viscous material. A urethane foam or a high-density urethane foam is used as the buffer materials, while crushed depending on a place and a raw material. A polyethylene foam, rubber sponge, or EPDM can be used as a substitute of the buffer materials. A hybrid configuration of a urethane foam and a thermoplastic resin with glass can be used as well.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 11 |
