<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image processor whose cost can be reduced by sharing layout processing even when it is connected to various data and devices, and to provide an image processing method and a program for image processing. <P>SOLUTION: Image data are inputted to a BIP profile 4 and temporarily stored in a buffer 5. When the image data are required, a request is outputted to a file system 18, which outputs an image reading instruction to a drive for reading images by using a file name with a drive letter.
