PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a handrail sterilizer of a passenger conveyor capable of suppressing the deterioration of a handrail by the effect of a photocatalyst while applying a sterilizing function by a photocatalyst to the handrail.SOLUTION: A handrail sterilizer of a passenger conveyor includes: photocatalyst contact means that includes an endless photocatalyst sheet having a first surface carrying a photocatalyst and a second surface on a side opposite to the first surface, and one or more rollers that come into contact with the second surface, and hold the photocatalyst sheet so that it moves in circles and causes the photocatalyst to come into contact with the surface of a handrail by causing the first surface to come into contact with the surface of the handrail while moving the photocatalyst sheet in circles; water supply means for supplying water to the first surface; and photocatalyst excitation means that includes one or more ultraviolet light emitting diodes with an emission wavelength of 360-400 nm, and excites the photocatalyst by ultraviolet light emitted from the ultraviolet light emitting diodes in an area to which water adheres, of the first surface.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 4 |
