PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a mercury recovery system and a mercury recovery method where mercury is efficiently recovered from a material containing mercury at a low cost and a mercury-removed material is utilized as a cement raw material.SOLUTION: A mercury recovery system 1 comprises: an indirect heating device 4 indirectly heating a mercury-containing material (mercury-containing dust D3) and volatilizing mercury contained in the material; a high oxygen concentration gas feeding device (gas introduction part 4d) feeding a high oxygen concentration gas A1 into the indirect heating device; a dust collector 5 collecting dust from the exhaust gas (transportation gas G1) of the indirect heating device; and a mercury recovery device 7 recovering mercury contained in the exhaust gas of the dust collector. The combustion of unburned carbon contained in the mercury-containing material is accelerated by the high oxygen concentration gas, the unburned carbon disappears and a mercury-removed material is utilized as a cement raw material. A high oxygen atmosphere can be formed in the indirect heating device using the high oxygen concentration gas having an oxygen concentration of 30 vol.% or more and 100 vol.% or less.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1 |
