PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an article of footwear having a novel feeling to wear that is unobtainable with conventional footwear.SOLUTION: The article of footwear has a cushion material 12 (cushioning layer) on the side in contact with the sole of a wearer in a sole member 10 for supporting the sole of the wearer. The cushion material 12 is composed of: a hollow pipe filled region 12a (hollow pipe filling layer) in which a number of elastically deformable hollow pipes 13 are filled; and a fabric 12b (surface layer 12b) which covers the top side of the hollow pipe filled region 12a. The hollow pipes 13 has desirably a compressive deformation ratio of 5-50% in the radial direction, a length of 1-15 mm, an outer diameter of 1-15 mm, and an aspect ratio of 0.5-5.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1 |
