The present invention provides a releasable fastener (11) for securing an object (19) to a structure (13). The structure comprising a first surface (15), and a second surface (17) against which the object is secured. A portion of the fastener is adapted to pass through a hole (25) in the object and pass into a slotted aperture (18) to engage a portion of the structure. The fastener comprises a head (31), a shank (33) integral with and extending from the head, and a locking element (35) rotatably positioned on the shank. When the releasable fastener is received in the opening and aperture, the locking element is adapted to operatively engage relative to the slotted aperture. During fastening of the fastener rotation of the head causes the locking element to rotate from a first position to a second position. With further rotation of the head the locking element remains in the second position and the head moves relatively towards the locking element to clamp/fasten the object and structure between the head and the locking element to secure the object to the structure. |
