PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a portable information terminal including an application software recommendation method and/or a screen display control method capable of providing preferred usability to a user.SOLUTION: The portable information terminal simultaneously displays an execution screen of a recommended application software and an icon which is associated with an application software desirably selected by a user of the portable information terminal in a separated area respectively on one screen. The portable information terminal also simultaneously displays an icon which is associated with an application software recommended by the portable information terminal and an icon which is associated with an application software desirably selected by a user of the portable information terminal in a separated area respectively on one screen.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 7
