A cutting drum (1) is rotatably mounted on a support (10) which engages in the inside of the drum, and sprinkling fluid is fed through bores (22) in the drum support to nozzles (3) which are fixed to the circumference of the cutting drum. A seal is arranged coaxially with the cutting drum axis and because of the large diameter of the seal special demands are made upon the fluid-tight closure of the seal. A bush (11) projects into an annular space (24) and is sealed therein by inner and outer sleeve-like seals (26). A sealing lip (28) of each seal (26) extends in the direction of that end of the bush which projects into the annular space (24) and a retaining portion (27) of each seal (26), which runs at right angles to the cutting drum axis (6), is fixed and fastened to one wall of the annular space (24) at the end remote from the sealing lip (28). <IMAGE>
