PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To transmit sound data whereby decoding on the regeneration side can be adequately performed when compression encoding is performed on multichannel sound signals. SOLUTION: An audio data area in an audio packet is constituted of a plurality of PPCM access units. The PPCM access unit is constituted of PPCM sync information and subpackets. The PPCM sync information includes an identifier of VBR or CBR, a sampling frequency fs, a quantization bit number Qb, channel assignment information, etc., and the respective data are transmitted through prescribed communication lines. |
