PURPOSE:To obtain the subject compound useful as a synthetic raw material for pharmaceuticals, etc., in high efficiency by culturing a microbial strain free from decomposition activity to trans-L-hydroxyproline and active to decompose other amino acids in a medium containing hydrolyzed collagen and collecting the residual amino acid after cultivation. CONSTITUTION:A microbial strain free from activity to decompose trans-L- hydroxyproline and active to decompose other amino acids such as aspartic acid, threonine, serine, asparagine, glutamic acid, proline, glycine, alanine, valine, cysteine, methionine, leucine, isoleucine, tyrosine, phenylalanine, histidine, lysine, arginine, hydroxylysine and alpha-aminobutyric acid (e.g. Proteus mirabilis IFO 3849) is inoculated to a medium containing hydrolyzed collagen, cultured at 30 deg.C for 48hr under shaking and subjected to centrifugal separation. The supernatant is collected and the residual amino acid is separated and purified by ion exchange resin column chromatography, etc., to obtain trans-L-hydroxyproline. |
