PRODUCTION OF MAGNETIC METAL POWDER

摘要

PURPOSE:To provide an industrially advantageous production of a magnetic metal powder which is very appropriately used for the magnetic recording medium. CONSTITUTION:The magnetic metal powder is produced by coating the surface of a needle-like particle of hydrous iron oxide with at least one compound selected from aluminum compounds and zirconium compounds, then heat-treating the coated particle to convert it into hematite, thereafter coating the surface of the resulting hematite particle with an aluminum compound and then heating and reducing the particle.
