PURPOSE: To provide a light control device elliminating noise on a display panel based on the variation of luminance characteristics of LED lamps, capable of adjusting at a stroke lumunaces of the whole of the display panel and capable of performing a contrast adjustment and chrominace adjustments. CONSTITUTION: This device is a light control device outputting address data ADi specifying respective LEDs and gradation data D3i specifying emitted light lumunaces of respective LEDs by synchronizing them with a dot clock Ddot with respect to the display panel consisting of LEDs while receiving chrominace signals R, G, B and synchronizing signals SV, SH supplied to a CRT display part and is provided with a surface luminance adjusting part 19 making output levels of the gradation data change by receiving a surface luminance adjusting data Dbr specifying luminaces of the whole of the display panel and a luminance correcting part 12 making the output levels of the gradation data change based on luminance characteristic data Dsens of respective LEDs.
