PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a printer using a pen input which is of the small size, light-weight and portable through the use of a pen input means, and saves input labor through the entry of character data using a pen by the pen input means. SOLUTION: Detection signals x, y of a pressure applied to the core of a pen are amplified, then are digitized by an A/D converter, and the waveform is stored in a cutout data memory part 38. In addition, the stored data is compared to the standard pattern of a registered pattern part 42 through calculation and also through character recognition by a recognition part 44, which, in turn, outputs character data to CPU 46. This character data which is output from the CPU 46 is indicated by a display part 6. The character data which is output from the CPU 46 is stored in RAM 48. Further, print data is output to a print control part 54 by the CPU 46 through an interface 50, and the print data amplified by a driver part 60 is entered to a printing head 26, so that the print data is printed out. |
