A process is disclosed for water-proofing leathers and pelts exclusively tanned with tanning polymers and possibly pre-tanned with aldehydes or reactive carbonyl compounds, without vegetable, synthetic and mineral tanning substances. Polysiloxanes are used as water-proofing agents.
