PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To contemplate the scaling down of the dimensions of an SR(switched reluctance) motor drive circuit by battery drive and the cost reduction. SOLUTION: In an SR motor drive circuit, where a drive circuit comprising two switch elements 1 and 2, a stator coil 11, and commutation diodes 5 and 6, and a drive circuit comprising two switch elements 3 and 4, a stator coil 12, and commutation diodes 7 and 8 are connected in parallel between both terminals of a battery 9, an AC power source 13 is connected via a changeover switch 10 to the middle point between two stator coils 11 and 12. With the above circuit constitution, in the case the SR motor is not driven, the battery 9 can be charged by an AC power source, since the four commutation diodes constitute a full bridge rectifying circuit. Accordingly, a diode for exclusive use in charge is unnecessary. |
