<p>A cell developed to solve the problems of a conventional cell that when the temperature of a cell is raised above 100 °C due to internal short-circuit, a large short-circuit current flows, so that the temperature of the cell is further raised due to heat buildup and a further increased short-circuit current flows, and that a poor adhesion between the electrode active material layer and the substrate of a current collector foil causes an increase in the internal resistance of the cell and deteriorates the cycle life characteristics of the cell. Specifically a cell provided with a collector foil substrate (4) and an active material layer (6) joined to one or both sides of the collector foil substrate (4) and containing an active material and an electron conductive material (9) in contact with the active material. The electron conductive material contains an electrically conductive filler and a resin and has a resistance increasing with temperature. Even when the temperature is raised, the current flowing through the electrode hardly increases. Besides, the area of junction and the adhesion between the active material layer (6) and the collector foil substrate (4) increase, contributing to an increase of the junction strength and an improvement in the cycle life characteristics.</p> |
