<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an walking assisting device that suitably demonstrates ability to assist in maintaining a standing posture and alleviates feeling of oppression while it is worn. <P>SOLUTION: This walking assisting device has a back cushion (4) comprising pads (18, 19, and 20) making a lumber part brace (1) apply to a section between right and left erector spinae muscles, their outside sections, and ridge parts of right and left iliac bones, respectively with the pads, and a belt (5) connected to the back cushion and tightly fastening a lower part of the rectus abdominis. The lumber part brace (1) of the walking assisting device comprises at least auxiliary dynamogenesis apparatuses (hip-joint actuators 10) at least on the sides of the hip joints in order to assist motions of the legs. Since this supports lumber vertebrae, the standing posture is maintained stably and resistance imposed by the device to bending exercises of the lumber part is reduced.
