PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a wood compressing device for manufacturing a compressed wood with a clearly defined end face shape and a varying width. SOLUTION: A raw material wood 7 is pinched by the nip part of pressure rolls 3, 4 and is rolled during conveying the wood 7. A width regulating barrel 23 fixed by means of a key 22 is provided on the outer surface of the pressure roll 3, and a fixed flange 24 which comes into contact with one end of the width regulating barrel 23, is fixed at one end of the pressure roll 4 in the axial direction, and a width regulating ring 26 which comes into contact with the other end of the width regulating barrel 23 by adjusting the movement of the ring 26 in the width direction on the outer peripheral face of the pressure roll 4, is provided on the other end part of the pressure roll 4 in the axial direction. The width regulating barrel 23 is used in accordance with the width of the raw material wood 7 and the position of the barrel 23 is adjusted so that the width adjusting ring 26 comes into contact with the end face of the width regulating barrel 23. Thus the raw material wood 7 with a specified width or a specified tilt of an annual ring is rolled.
