PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To miniaturize a power semiconductor module and to enhance its reliability by reducing the number of input signal lines to an IPM and a HVIC used for a PMW inverter/converter. SOLUTION: Three PWM signals (PWMU, PWMV and PWMW) and one PWMOFF signal for turning off all signals are supplied from a CPU 14 to a 6PWM signal generator 13d in an IPM 13. Then, three phase inverted signals are respectively generated from the generators 13d based on the three PWM signals. Thus, a drive circuit 13a inputs six signals from the generator 13d via a photocoupler 13e, and controls to switch six IGBTs of an inverter 13b. Accordingly, a power semiconductor module which generates six PWM signals by inputting three PWM signals and one PWMOFF signal can be realized. |
