PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a stable and safe collagen production promoter capable of activating metabolic functions of dermal fibroblasts, promoting the production of new collagen and improving an aging in fibrous collagen and further a skin care preparation capable of effectively preventing and ameliorating skin aging or damaging with stresses. SOLUTION: This collagen production promoter is obtained by including one or more kinds selected from an extract and an extracted and fractionated substance of Puerariae Radix in a carrier. An extract with a high 4',7- dihydroxyisoflavone content is preferred as the above extract, etc. The 4'7- dihydroxyisoflavone as a principal ingredient may be included in the carrier. One or more kinds selected from the collagen production promoter obtained as described above are selected and included in a base for the skin care preparation to afford a skin care preparation for preventing the senescence. |
