In a method for producing an electrical connection between a flexible printed-circuit board (1) and a metallic mating contact member (8), a light-radiating opening (5) is formed in a first insulating layer (2) and a connecting opening (6) is formed in a second insulating layer (3). A section (8a) of the metallic mating contact member (8) is brought into bearing contact with a conductor track (4) through the connecting opening (6). Welding/soldering of the conductor track (4) to the connecting section (8a) is brought about by radiant heating by means of laser light (9) directed through the light-radiating opening (5).
