<p>An apparatus (10) for performing spinal therapy is disclosed and includes a base assembly (14) having a pair of spaced-apart, vertically extending guide posts and at least one stabilizing foot 26) associated with each guide post (22) and capable of pivoting from a folded to an expanded position to stabilize the apparatus (10) during use. A lift bar assembly (12) is disposed between the guide posts (22). The lift bars (40) which are slidely attached to the guide posts (22). An elongated fluid filled pad (20) is disposed between the guide posts (22) and over at least a portion of the horizontal cross bar (18). An actuator (16), including a motor (34) operably connected to the lift assembly (12), is used to selectively raise and lower the lift bar assembly (12). A cable and pulley system (62,64,66, and 68) is incorporated into the apparatus (10) for raising and lowering the lift bar assembly (12) in a uniform manner.</p> |
