METHOD FOR MANAGING PLAY HISTORY INFORMATION IN OPTICAL DISK DEVICE, ENABLING USER TO CONVENIENTLY RETRIEVE PREVIOUSLY STOPPED PLAY POSITIONS OF OPTICAL DISK

PURPOSE: A method for managing play history information in an optical disk device is provided to search/play a previously stopped play position in reference to optional play history information selected by a user, thereby conveniently retrieving previously stopped play positions of an optical disk. CONSTITUTION: A microcomputer reads navigation information to download the navigation information to a memory(S10), and performs a play operation corresponding to a request of a user(S11). If a play stop key is inputted from a user(S12), the microcomputer retrieves/confirms an end address while confirming a current play time(S13). The microcomputer records/stores the current play time as play history information in association with a disk ID(S14). If an OSD image is requested to be displayed by the user(S15), the microcomputer outputs/displays end marks associated with the disk ID in list type(S17). If the user selects an optional end mark, the microcomputer randomly accesses a play position of the optical disk, and automatically plays data from the corresponding position(S19).
