<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To easily and quickly classify qualities of printed matters according to types and contents of the printed matter based on defects in images on the printed matter printed by an image forming apparatus. <P>SOLUTION: The printed matter inspection controller 10 for controlling inspection of the printed matter printed by the image forming device 20 has a document image data acquiring means, a means for acquiring inspection image data read from a printed result image formed on a sheet by the image forming device based on the document image data, and a quality detemining means for detecting the defect in the image based on the document image data and the inspection image data and classifying qualities of the printed matter into a plrality of classes. The quality determining means can be switched to a mode for classifying the quality into an acceptable class and an unacceptable class and a mode for classifying the quality into an acceptable class, an acceptable class and an intermediate class. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI |
