The device has a table (2) to accommodate stacked cutting goods, and a fixing device to fix the goods in a supporting frame (16). A knife (14) with a cutting edge is movably guided in the supporting frame. The knife is angularly formed in front-sided and rear-sided angular faces of the cutting edge, where one of the angular faces encloses an angle that lies in the range of 0.03-0.7 degrees with a reference plane, and the other angular face encloses an angle that lies in the range of 10-35 degrees with the reference plane. The reference plane runs parallel to a coplanar side of the knife.
