PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a small and inexpensive water supply device with high efficiency by generating directly hot water and/or cold water from water without storage tanks for hot water and cold water, and a food vending machine provided with the device. SOLUTION: The water supply device having a water temperature adjustment means driven by power supply to supply water adjusted to a predetermined temperature comprises, as the water temperature adjustment means, a hot water generation part 7 including a metallic water pipe 72 and a coil 17 wound on the water pipe 72 and excited by a high frequency converter 73 to generate a high frequency magnetic flux, and a cold water generation part 8 having a Peltier element applied to a water passing part. A commercial AC power source is converted to DC voltage having a wave height value or more of the AC voltage by a commutator 92, and outputted to a DC circuit to which an electric double layer capacitor 91 is connected. In supply of hot water, the voltage is fed from the capacitor 91 to the high-frequency inverter 73 to heat the water pipe 72, and in supply of cold water, the DC voltage is fed from the capacitor 91 to the Peltier element of the cold water generation part 9 through a DC-DC converter 82 to perform electronic cooling.
