An information collecting apparatus of a printer is provided to collect printer information periodically if a user consents to collection of printer information and print the collected printer information with customer benefit information provided in reward for collection of printer information so that a printer company receives the printer information to use the printer information for research and development for a printer and marketing. A collected information storing unit(260) stores printer information. A printer controller(270) collects the printer information in accordance with the consent of a user to collection of information to store the printer information at the collected information storing unit, and controls to issue coupons having printed coupon information including customer benefit information in reward for collection of information. A printing engine(250) prints the print information at the coupons to issue coupons in accordance with a control signal of the printer controller.
