PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve the problem that it is hard to control focusing to bring about a focalizing state because no sufficient contrast value is output in a case of an object having no high frequency components in the horizontal direction of its image. SOLUTION: A focus controller calculates the contrast value from the pixel data selected randomly regardless of the arrangements and relations of the horizontal and vertical pixels of the original image obtained by photographing an object. Thus, it can focus even on an object having no edges such as contours and comparatively less contrasts without increasing the circuit scale. COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT |
