PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an information distribution system by which popular channels can be easily viewed.

SOLUTION: In the information distribution system having a plurality of channels CH1 to CHn to distribute respective content information by a tree-shaped hierarchical structure of the respective channels CH1 to CHn, each terminal device 2 acquires information of a plurality of popular channels in which there are many terminal devices constituting the tree-shaped hierarchical structure among the plurality of channels, and sequentially selects and connects one popular channel among the plurality of popular channels each time a prescribed operation is detected.
