<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a liquid crystal display device in which the viewing-angle dependence varying from device to device can easily be corrected even after manufacturing a liquid crystal display panel without increasing the number of manufacturing processes of the liquid crystal display panel. Ž<P>SOLUTION: In the liquid crystal display device, a display pixel P(i, j) has a first sub pixel P1(i, j) and a second sub pixel P2(i, j) of which electrodes are separated from each other, each of the first sub pixel and second sub pixel has a liquid crystal capacitance formed with liquid crystal sandwiched between a pixel electrode and a common electrode and an auxiliary capacitance formed with solid dielectric sandwiched between a pixel electrode and an auxiliary capacitance line, and either of the first sub pixel and the second sub pixel has a step-up capacitance formed with solid dielectric sandwiched between a pixel electrode and a set-up capacitance line. Therein, a first voltage application means 14 for applying a first voltage common to the common electrode and the auxiliary capacitance line and a second voltage application means 15 for applying a second voltage different from the first voltage to the set-up capacitance line are further disposed.
