<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a communication apparatus capable of reducing the loss of communication time due to roaming. Ž<P>SOLUTION: The communication apparatus includes: an identification information storage unit 131 that stores therein device identification information for identifying a relay device to which the communication apparatus is currently being connected; a transmitting and receiving unit 121a that transmits a request message requesting connectable relay devices to return a response message, and receives response messages including device identification information of relay devices having received the request message, from the relay devices; a scan result determining unit 122 that determines whether a received request message includes device identification information identical to the device identification information stored in the identification information storage unit 131; and a connection requesting unit 124 that requests connection to the relay device identified by device identification information included in one of received response messages when no received response message includes device identification information identical to the device identification information stored in the identification information storage unit 131.
