PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a ballast water treatment device which has a cylindrical filter filtering ballast water flown inside and flowing outside and where backwash effect to a pleat filter portion disposed at the outer peripheral side of the filter can be further improved.SOLUTION: A ballast water treatment device comprises: a cylindrical filter 52 filtering ballast water W1 flown inside and flowing outside; and a backwashing water jet nozzle 6 being disposed at the secondary side of the filter 52 and backwashing water W2 toward the filter 52. The filter 52 has a pleat filter portion 56 where the crests 562 and troughs 563 of pleats are extended in an axial direction D1 of the filter 52, at the outer peripheral side. A jetting direction DW of the backwashing water W2 from the backwashing water jet nozzle 6 is inclined to a radial direction D2 of the filter 52 when viewed in the axial direction D1 of the filter 52.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 3
