PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a magnetic type rotation detector capable of detecting the angular position of a rotor by using an annular permanent magnet provided around the rotational center axis line of the rotor and a magneto-sensitive element facing one surface of the permanent magnet in a rotation center axis line direction, and to provide a motor.SOLUTION: A magnetic type rotation detector 1 is configured such that since the thickness of an annular permanent magnet 2 is thinner from the peripheral center parts N0 and S0 of an N pole and an S pole, respectively, toward end parts N1, N2, S1, and S2, a magnetic flux density on one surface 21 side is changed in a sinusoidal shape in a peripheral direction. Thus, by providing a first hall element 31 and a second hall element 32 at positions where electric angles are separated by 90° as magneto-sensitive elements 3 facing one surface 21 of the permanent magnet 2 in a rotation center axis line direction L, the absolute angle position θ of a rotor 10 can be obtained by θ=tan(sin/cos), where sin indicates an output from the first hall element 31 and cos indicates an output from the second hall element 32.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1 |
