摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a lithium manganese nickel composite oxide particle which enables the achievement of a high output when used as a positive electrode active material of a secondary battery.SOLUTION: A positive electrode active material comprises tungsten-containing lithium composite oxide particles. The positive electrode active material is manufactured by the step of baking a precursor including at least lithium, manganese, nickel and titanium with a number-of-atoms ratio represented by Li:Mn:Ni:Ti=t:(2-x-y):x:y (where 0.96<t≤1.25, 0.40≤x≤0.60 and 0.04≤y≤0.10) at a temperature of 850-950°C in an oxidizing atmosphere to synthesize lithium composite oxide particles, the step of then, adding a tungsten compound to the lithium composite oxide particles and mixing them together so that the ratio of the number of tungsten atoms to the total of numbers of atoms of metal elements except lithium satisfies the condition given by 0<W≤0.01, and the step of performing a thermal treatment at a temperature of 650-750°C.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
